DefinitionHepatic porphyria is an abnormal increase in pigments or colorings (porphyrins) made in the liver. Signs include abnormal sensitivity to light and pain in the abdomen . This is a hereditary disorder that usually usually develops after hepatitis , heavy metal poisoning , and certain anemias .
